Picking up where the first game left off, Twisted Metal: Black gets the gas pumping and the metal flying as a mysterious underworld figure named Calypso has put on a car combat tournament. And, he's invited 15 characters – each driven by a burning desire for revenge or redemption – to compete in a winner-take-all tournament. This darkly humorous game of mayhem, death and destruction puts you behind the wheel of a heavily armed vehicle as its psychotic driver. Each vehicle has its own trade-off between speed and armor as well as weaponry. The beat-up ice cream truck, Sweet Tooth may be slow, but it packs quite a punch while Mr. Grimm can't take a beating but is fast enough to get behind an opponent in order to kill them from behind. As much a fighting game as a driving one, Twisted Metal lets players configure their controls so that new players can get right into the thick of things while veterans can apply more finesse. Be the last man standing in Story Mode, see how long you can last in Endurance Mode or test your skills in Challenge Mode. Up to four players can compete head-to-head or fight side to side in any of the multi-player modes.
