"This petite Edwardian pin dates from the turn of the century, between 1920-1930. The back of the pin is signed 1/20 12kt GF. Although the pin measures just 1 3/4"" long x 7/8"" tall it is very eye catching as the bright red glass focal stone is a fine specimen. The red glass is open backed so the stone appears to glow from within. The stone is deeply translucent and clear and is a faceted European emerald cut. It is prong set as well. The pin is a classic Edwardian style with ribbed gold rods that make the outside frame. Above and below the red glass stone are finials and swags of leaves. The leaves to sides have delicate ribbed patterns. These leaves have an orange tint as they are rose gold. The leaves that look black are silver burnished. The back of the pin has the original safety clasp and the original gold filled bar. The pin shows little wear, if any. The back has some light wear and there are some faint microscopic scratches on the face of the glass stone under high magnification.If you love red, and really old gold pins ~ this one is a true beauty ~"
