Amethyst and Crystal Cocktail Ring 1960s Signed

"This alluring cocktail ring is a glamorous piece from the 1960s. The ring is a size 6 1/2 and the design is very unique for a vintage costume ring and it looks like an older antique ring. The faceted oval cut center stone is either Amethyst or Iolite. The color is slightly lavender - not deep purple. The central stone is flanked with clear crystal slender baguettes in fan shapes on the top and bottom. Each side has two tiers of small rhinestone chatons. Notice the photo that shows the top or bottom of the ring : the openwork has fancy scrolls. The ring is very well made as all of the stones are prong set with small stubbed prongs. The ring is plated in 14kt gold and the base metal looks like it could be sterling. There is no gold wear on the face of the ring, or the tops, but I must tell you that I have worn this ring over the past 40 years, and the ring band is worn down to the silver metal. There is also some slight gold wear on the bottom, on the scroll work. This ring is designer signed, but the signature is very worn. It is a four letter word that starts with A, and it is not Avon. The second letter looks like it might be an M. The ring is clean and polished and ready to wear. Comes shipped in a very nice faceted Acrylic ring box."
