Antique Brooch or Pin Jappaned w Marquise Rhinestones

"A very unusual rhinestone and black jappaned metal brooch from the late 1930's made in two tiers. There are rhinestones on top, and rhinestones on the back tier. This piece has terrific depth and is in excellent condition with no wear. It is very complex in design and very well crafted. The back portion is composed of four circular jappaned mounts with a large brilliant cut clear rhinestone in the center. Each of the lower circles have a large faceted chatons, surrounded by smaller chatons and Marquise rhinestones towards the outside. The upper tier is composed of four jappaned metal circles as well, and all of the round rhinestones are prong set at various staggered heights. It reminds me of looking at the stars in the night sky, some near and some far. This piece is just layered with dimension from every angle ! Reading this description sounds complicated, so please look at the photos to get a true feeling ! All of the stones are present, original and clear. Some have a very light grey or yellow tint. The entire piece is in excellent condition, with no wear to the jappaned black metal. It also has the original fine working safety clasp on the back. This brooch is a nice handful at 2"" wide and stands out over 1/2"" from front to back. This brooch dates from the late 1930's and is not signed. I have debated for years as the origin of this piece. It is most likely Bohemian. "
