Antique Italain Murano Necklace Moretti Wedding Cake Glass

"This striking antique Italian glass necklace features Murano Moretti lamp worked beads of exceptional quality. This necklace dates from the 1920s or 30s and the beads are called wedding cake beads. The applied pink and red flowers are roses and the Forget Me Not flowers are blue and white glass applique. The beads are clear glass, very round and smooth, and do not vary in size or shape.( Beads of poor quality are not smooth, perfectly round or the same shape from one bead to the next.) Each bead is about the size of a small cherry tomato or 3/4"" wide. There are four smaller beads near the clasp. All of the beads have applied 24 kt gold and applied gold trailing. Each bead has a pair of brass filigree bell caps with a darkened patina from age. (No greening or damage ;just a darkening from age.) There are 15 large beads in all and the necklace is 16 1/2"" long. The old brass barrel screw clasp is original to the necklace. In relation to age, the beads are in very nice shape. No chips or cracks. Only some light gold wear here and there, and maybe a couple of worn roses. This antique Italian wedding cake necklace is an exceptional rare find !"
