Antiqued Gold Owl Necklace w Agate Belly

"This unique vintage owl necklace dates from the late 1940s or early 1950s. The bird has unique retro modern or Eames Era character which is very different from owl pendants produced in later years. Notice the arched and domed polished wings and the contrasting geometric head and eye composition. This retro modern design is complimented with an unusual Agate belly. The agate is masculine colors of magenta, grey and white that looks to be an old type of Leopard Jasper that is not commercially sold today. This large oval gemstones is 1"" long. The owl is made of antiqued gold pot metal. The textures are a contrasting combination of brushed and polished finishes. The owl is not signed but I have a strong sense this piece was American made. The pendant is a nice medium size at 2 1/2"" long x 1 1/2"" wide and the bird is very thick and heavy. The original old large link gold metal chain is very heavy and very long. The chain is one continuous 30"" long loop. The pendant and the chain are in exceptional condition with no imperfections. The Agate has no scratches and retains the natural gloss. Both pieces are very clean as well."
