Art Deco Brooch or Pin Sapphire Blue Glass Czechoslovakia

"This captivating Art Deco brooch feels like magic in your hands. It is a unique Czechoslovakia or Bohemian pin with cut and polished glowing Sapphire glass with angled facets. The glass in the center is a six sided stone, and the surrounding stones are irregular triangles. Technically, it is all one piece of oval glass that has been cut to fit the frame. The stone is prong set in a pot metal frame that is pierced or beaded to look like Marcasite. The frame around the outside edge is an etched rope style. The pin has the original C clasp mechanism and measures about 1 1/2"" wide x 1"" tall. It is a petite, elegant piece that was made between 1900 -1920 and is not signed, but is most certainly of Czech origin. The pin is ins excellent condition with no wear to the metal and there are no chips in the glass. If you hold the pin at an angle to the light, you can see a couple of extremely tiny scratches on one end of the center stone.(see photo #6) This pin was made to be worn on a blouse at the base of your throat. This is where the pin is most attractive. It can also be worn on a blouse slightly off to the side, but it is not a pin that was meant for a jacket, coat, or blazer. It looks best on light colored clothing. "
