Art Nouveau Sash Pin Gold Lady w Grapes

"This precious sash pin is a wonderful Art Nouveau piece from the turn of the century. The oval frame is adorned with classic Art Nouveau swirls. On rare occasions on Art Nouveau pieces where the lady should have hair, the head was adorned clusters of grape leaves and berries. The brooch is heavy brass with a beautiful satin gold gilt finish. Notice the pair of prong like bars on the right that were designed to hold a sash, ribbons, or scarf in place. The brooch measures 2"" long x 1 3/4"" wide and has the original bar and C clasp on the back. It is in excellent condition with no loss of gold, but the gold has taken on a slight aged patina in small spots. The brooch is not signed, but it was most likely made in France."
