"The unusual blue color of these carved scarab earrings is an opalescent blue form of Chalcedony. The earrings date from the 1950s and are signed 1/20 12kt gold filled, Amco. Amco made some of the finest gold jewelry in the 1950s that was sold in independent jewelry stores across the USA. What I admire about this opal blue color is the soft appearance. It is not a blue that jumps out at you, and the opal quality has an antique look. The earrings are screw backs and both earrings are in pristine like new condition. There is no gold wear and the scarabs are perfect. Both earrings are perfectly clean and polished as well. This is a petite dangle style that measures just 1 1/8"" long x 1/2"" wide."
