"Of all the brooches Boucher ever made, this is one of my very favorite pieces that dates from the late 1950s or early 1960s. Boucher, like DeNicola, has a very impressive way of creating spectacular gold finishes. This flower pin does not have an official design name but my first impression of this piece is that it looks like a peony. The gold curls on the brooch are brushed satin yellow gold on one side. The tops of the curls and the opposite sides are polished gold. The back has yet another gold finish - a glistening beaded texture. This brooch is a nice weighty piece and it is not large or ostentatious. It is very elegant and elite. It measures 1 5/8"" wide. The brooch has the original fine working safety clasp and is signed Boucher with copyright. The entire piece is in pristine condition with no signs of wear or other imperfections. The brooch is perfectly clean as well. This unique Boucher brooch is a superb heirloom piece !"
