Carved Celluoid Clamper Bracelet Large Flowers Vintage 1940s

"I am very pleased to offer this old ivory celluloid carved clamper bracelet because it is a clamper style. Most of these old celluloid bracelets were bangles, and not everyone can fit their hand inside those bangles ! This bracelet dates from the 1940s and the design is both large and small flowers around the whole exterior. The bracelet is oval in shape, not round, so the shape will lay nicely on your wrist. The celluloid is perfect, clean and in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. If you look VERY closely, you can notice some light foxing ( tanning or yellowing) in tiny spots on the edges only. This is just the natural way that ivory celluloid ages, but I have learned you can take this effect away if you clean the celluloid with a Q tip dipped in bleach - but it is not something I would do because it deters the natural old look. The silver metal hinge is in fine working order, but the metal is old and shows surface wear. The interior measures 2 1/8"" wide and was made for ladies with a medium or petite build. The band itself is 7/8"" wide. My wrist is large at 7"" around and when I put this bangle on, it is about 1"" shy of closely completely. I think this bracelet would best fit ladies with a wrist of 6"" or smaller. The bracelet is not signed, but Im certain it was made in Japan before the end of WWII."
