"From the 1950s, these dreamy Caribbean pools of color are copper enamel earrings signed by Hogan Bolas. Hogan Bolas made only a few types of effects with enamels, and this design is referred to as Tie Dyed, as the enamels are layered, pooled and splattered. The layers of colors are both opaque and translucent in Capri Blue, Cobalt, Sea weed green and white. As with all of his earrings, the copper metal is spooned or concave, which allowed the enamels to pool and splatter so nicely. I strongly admire this mix of soothing tropical colors, but I love the unique dangling bell shapes - which is an uncommon shape for Bolas.The earrings have gold metal screw backs and the copper enamel bells measure 1"" long x 1"" wide. Both earrings are signed Hogan Bolas. The enamels are perfect with no chips, cracks or crazing and retain their high glass shine. The copper backs are in pristine condition as well. These earrings could easily be converted to pierced earrings, and I can do it for you if you desire.
