Copper Necklace Bracelet Earrings Vintage 1940s Hogan Bolas

"This vintage copper necklace, bracelet and earring Parure is a very unique and rare. This abstract design dates from the late 1940s. Now Im going to repeat myself : this is a very rare set and you will most likely never see this design again. I believe it could be one of a kind. Within modernist artist made old copper jewelry, there are basically two different motifs. Those that are fluid in appearance that are derived from nature, and those that are geometric shapes that look like man made objects. This Parure is a prime example of an abstract nature design as the large sections are elongated hearts. Personally, I love the look of these bold, old fluid designs. They are mesmerizing! This big and bold design is heavy and thick solid copper. All of the chains, rings, hooks, clasps and beads are solid copper as well. The clips on the earrings are brass. The necklace is composed of 5 heart sections and the bracelet is composed of three heart sections. Each section has an applied copper rod that mimics the shape of the hearts. There are only 3 possible designers who could have made this piece. The Parure looks like Rebajes or Morley Crimi, but I do not think that it is. I strongly attribute this design to the early works of Hogan Bolas in the late 1940s. Many of this early works were not signed. The entire set is in excellent condition for age. It has been sanitized and professionally cleaned with care taken not to remove any of the original patina. The Parure is complete with all original copper hooks, chains, rings, clips and clasps. You will notice some very light signs of handling to the polished copper areas both front and back - fine swirls from handling and polishing. There are no dents, dings or other imperfections. You can see small squares on the backs of a few sections where there were once stickers that read solid copper - which are no longer there. The copper sections of all pieces are very large ; each section measures 1 3/4"" long x 1 3/8"" wide. The decorative portion of the necklace is 10 1/2"" long. The necklace can be hooked between 14"" and 17"" long with the copper extension chains. The bracelet is 7 1/8"" long and has the original copper safety chain. The earrings are clips ( that are strong with tight snap) and measure 1 3/4"" long."
