"This copper necklace and pierced earring Parure is a very exceptional, old Renoir design. It is a design that incorporates a lot of solid copper and although the design does not have a formal pattern name, it is an early design that is rather uncommon to find.The copper pieces you see are domed on the front and flat on the back. Each dome is a four sided trapezoid and there are four rectangular cut outs with black matt enamel in the background. Each pendant piece is 1"" long x 5/8"" wide. The links that join the pendant sections are also solid copper. The decorative portion of the necklace is 13"" long. With the original copper extension chains and copper hook, the necklace can be hooked anywhere between 14 1/2"" and 18 1/2"" long. The pierced earrings are 1 5/8"" long. The necklace and earrings together weight a total of 3.3 ounces, or 93 grams of old solid copper. This copper is almost 100% pure, with little to none aluminum or other metal alloy content. This is why the necklace and earrings weigh so much ! This Parure in in fabulous condition for age. It has rarely been worn and I have owned it for a couple of decades and have kept it in perfect shape. There are no scratches, dings, grime or greening and all pieces are perfectly clean and pristine. The back of the necklace and the back of the earrings show some light pitting from age only. The necklace and earrings are not signed, as much of Renoirs older jewelry was not signed. This old Renoir design is one that will never go out of style ! "
