"This old copper metal pin is not just for snow skiers, but was made as a Christmas pin and can be worn by a man or woman. The pin dates from the 1950's and if you look closely you can see the cat gut round stoppers on the ends of the ski poles and straps with buckles on the skis. The lines in the skis also represent wood graining. Like cameo pins, the artist could only create what they saw in real life, which helps to date jewelry of this nature. Wooden skis and old poles like these were in use during the 1950's. The copper metal has a shiny clear coat and is in excellent condition with no wear. The pin is 3 1/2"" long x 5/8"" wide. It has the original fine working safety clasp on the back and is not signed."
