"This unusual Damascene flower pin features a large filigree Damascene flower. Open work flower designs is very uncommon for Damascene pieces. The flower petals are arched and the center is graced with a large satin ivory faux pearl. The brooch also exhibits two types of leaves : one with jagged edges and one in a paisley shape with a flower design on the leaf. The smaller leaf is accented with a faux satin pearl as well. The brooch is 24kt gold plated with silver and black embossing. This brooch, although not signed, hails from Toledo Spain and dates from the 1950s. For a Damascene flower pin, it has exceptional 3D character. The brooch is in pristine condition and the pearls are perfect. On the large flower, I detect what I think is some light wear to the black enamel only on the inner petal area. This area is arched up, where your fingers come I contact with the pin when handling. The brooch measures 2 1/4"" long x 1 1/2"" wide and has the original fine working safety clasp."
