"I admire this patriotic flower pin because it is a double flower and the design is rather unique and different. The three layers of petals remind me of mums or peonies. This pin is a rather large piece and it dates from the mid to late 1950s. The enamels are in excellent condition for age with no signs of wear, chips, scratches or crazing. If you look at the piece under high magnification, you might be able to find some very tiny pin pricks in the enamel, but I doubt this pin has ever been worn or taken out of the jewelry box! Even the back is perfect, with no signs of wear or dirt. The brooch is exceptionally well made and the layered petals are riveted together. This is old heavy pot metal, and the piece is rather substantial in weight. It measures 3"" long x 2 1/4"" wide. It has the original fine working safety clasp and is not signed."
