English Opalescent Glass Earring Star and Flower Buttons Vintage 1950s

"These earrings are very unique ~ they are English Patterned Opal Glass ! As an art glass collector, I can tell you that this type of glass is rather rare to find - and very rare to find in jewelry. This is a type of milk glass that was made in England in the late 1950s and early 1960s. If you can find a rose bowl or small vase made out of glass like this, it is worth hundreds of dollars ! These glass buttons were mold pressed, pattern in delicate beaded scrolls and faceted stars. The glass was then acid flashed, a fire polish technique, which creates the brilliant pastel rainbow colors. These button style clip earrings are very noticeable, as they are medium to large in size at 1 1/4"" wide. Surprisingly, they are very light weight to wear. The glass is framed with polished gold metal, and this metal has some light specks of wear. The backs have little to no wear, and the clips are strong with tight snap. The earrings are perfectly clean with not even a speck of dirt or grime under high magnification."
