"This little known designer, Roget, made very high quality brooches in the 1940's here in the US. Any signed pieces by this designer are very hard to come by. This is truly a gorgeous and very well made brooch. The brooch has exceptional weight and the petals are tiered and layered in a beautiful flared fashion. Some of the petals are highly polished in heavy rose gold and some have a cross hatch brushed satin finish. The center stone is a large ruby red glass brilliant chaton. On the back of the brooch, you can see the masterful construction of this piece. The backs of the petals are finished in a thick rose gold plating, and each petal has diagonal lines in opposite directions from the vein down the center of the petal. This is a rather large piece at 2 1/2"" wide. This brooch is all original and has the original fine working safety clasp. It is exceptionally clean and in excellent condition with little wear, if any. It is signed Roget on the back."
