"All ladies in the 1960s who needed everyday gold earrings to go with everything they wore, owned earrings similar in design to these draped fabric clips. This style is very hard to find today. The glistening satin gold metal is technically a thin sheet of metal fabric that was shaped into gold pleated ribbons. The gold is an soft hue and the folds catch light in angles and shadows. Under high magnification, you can see all of the microscopic little holes that make up the fine gold metal fabric. The earrings have high quality lever style screw backs in polished gold, which have a patent number that dates to 1965. The patent is not related to the maker of the earrings, but rather this new design of pressure sensitive comfortable lever back screw clips. This design was invented by Nazareno Saccoccio and patented in 1965. Earrings are excellent designer quality, but not signed other than the patent. In excellent clean condition with no wear, these elegant gold ribbons are 1 "" long x 7/8"" wide."
