"This stunning vintage 1950s real pearl necklace is exceptionally unique. The necklace is two Matinee lengths of 8 mm and 10 mm pearl strands in satin wedding dress white. But thats not enough to be exceptional, is it ? The unique feature on this necklace is the oversized radiating flower medallion over the clasp. This medallion is a whopping 2"" wide and the plethora of real seed pearls are hand wired to a gold metal flower frame with pin wheel petals. There is a second flower design in the middle with faceted silver foil crystal beads. This necklace is a style you would expect from a famous jewelry designer like Miriam Haskell, but exceptional wire work was accomplished by skilled designers in Japan. These pearls are excellent quality cultured pearls with very thick nacres. They appear to be pearls that were cultured for 3-4 years. The uniformity is rather perfect, and the brilliant luster will last several life times. The necklace is signed Japan. The pearl strands are 24"" and 26"" long and all of the pearls are in pristine like new condition with no lack of luster and no scratches. The pearls are strung on double strength silk cotton cord that is bright white and perfect. The necklace is not heavy to wear because the seeding was done with plastic beads. The flower medallion is perfect as well with no missing pearls or rhinestones and all are tight and show no signs of wear. The entire necklace is exceptionally clean like the day it was made. One feature I admire about this necklaces is that you can wear it three different ways. With the flower medallion off to one side, or in the center at your bust line, or with the medallion to the back of your neck with you hair pulled up to show it off !"
