Owl Bird Pin Enamel w Rhinestones Vintage 1950s

"This 1950's owl is a large piece at 2 5/8"" long x 1 1/8"" wide. It is made of bright silver rhodium plated metal with tremendous detail in the molded feathers, eyes and ears. It is extremely well crafted and is a two part construction piece, as the head is a separate mold that is attached by a metal rivet. The depth of this piece is great, and it stands out 1/2"" thick. The owl is brightly painted in shiny enamels of light and dark blue, canary yellow and bright orange. The nose is a metallic rose color. They eyes are eccentric rhodium plated metal flowers with red rhinestone centers and the five flower petals have small clear chatons. This owls eyes really dazzle! On the birds body, many areas were left unpainted to reveal the bright silver rhodium finish. There is some light enamel wear, but mostly confined to the top of the birds head. The rhodium is in excellent shiny condition. All of the rhinestones are original, present and clear. The owl has the original fine working safety clasp and is not signed. The whole piece is in excellent and clean condition with little, if any, signs of wear. What a truly fabulous great horned owl ! "
