"I was taken by great surprise to find these vintage earrings for several reasons! This retro modern design was made during the Eames Era, or the early to mid 1950s. These large buttons are patterned light weight aluminum and you might not know this, but finding aluminum jewelry from the 1950s is a very difficult task. During and after the war, precious metals were hard to come by in the jewelry business, but there was a good deal of aluminum jewelry that was made, and most of it has simply disappeared ! The earrings are clips and they are not signed. They were either made in West Germany or the USA. Each earrings is 1 1/4"" wide and both earrings are in excellent condition with no imperfections or signs of wear. The clips are like new and are strong with tight snap. The colors are patriotic, but the earrings can also double as and everyday design and matches well with other silver or turquoise jewelry. "
