"This 1940's oval art glass brooch in an antiqued gold patterned metal setting is marked Made in West Germany. The glass is opalescent pearl white with interior swirls are purple, silver grey and dark grey. Over the years I have found that this particular combination of colors is extremely hard to come by in old Bohemian glass jewelry. The pearlescent quality in this piece is so strong that it creates an optical illusion in the depth of field, appearing much deeper than the actual thickness. The antiqued gold tone frame is a hand made bezel with machine pierced medallions. The entire piece is in excellent condition with no wear or scratches. The brooch is 2"" long x 1 5/8"" wide and is marked West Germany on the back. ( The light yellow spots you may see in the photos are only reflections from the flash.) "
