"This large and dramatic brooch from the mid to late 1940's is a unique post war modern brooch. It has fabulous 3 D character and the large sapphire blue crystals are wrapped in rhinestone studded gold ribbons. The brooch is rather large at 3 3/4"" long x 2"" wide. The Sapphire blue crystals are all multi faceted and originally had overshot silver flashing that is now relatively worn. The crystals have sharp faceted edges and are not chipped or scratched. The center of the flower is a large clear chaton crystal with smaller surrounding stones. The stones are all original, prong set and clear. The brooch is made of gold plated heavy metal and the gold ribbon and stem has some light age wear. The gold ribbon had bezel set small clear chatons on top of the seven folds. The brooch has the original fine working safety clasp on the back and it not signed. The back of the brooch shows no signs of wear. Because this piece is not signed, the price here makes is a great bargain ! "
