"These old pot metal, rhodium and rhinestone earrings have patent numbers that date them to 1950. They are also signed ORA. ORA began producing exceptional designs in 1921 in when Oreste Agnini and Ralph Singer, both immigrants from Italy, founded Agnini & Singer, the first Jewelry Company in Chicago. They are actually still in business today. Ora pieces are fabulous collector items, especially when you can find pieces with patent numbers that firmly put a date on the piece. Not many of their items had anything other than their ORA signature. These rhodium plated clip earrings are in mint condition. They are 7/8"" tall x 5/8"" wide. There is a masonic like rhinestone cartouche on top of the heart. It is a sword inside of a sickle. Ora has long produced jewelry for lodges, temples and organizations with pins, medals, earrings, and crowns. It is obvious that these earrings were produced after WW II for members of the lodges to give to their wives and sweet hearts as Valentines Day gifts. All of the rhinestones in these earrings are original, clear and present. A perfect pair of hearts that are almost 55 years old !"
