Gold Satin Hematite Necklace Signed Givenchy Ethnic Modern Design

"This signed Givenchy vintage gold medallion necklace is a very rare design to find. The necklace is a Greek revival design and the medallion and chain are finished is soft satin gold gilt. The unusual large oval link is a heavy chain that is an uncommon Givenchy design as well. The medallion features five stones; three are Hematites and two are clear glass. The central Hematite is a large dome with a fine mirror effect. The outside stones are all diamond faceted and the Hematites are squares while the faceted glass cabs are round. The medallion is signed Givenchy, Paris New York and the chain has the original Givenchy logo metal hang tag. The chain is 34"" long. Each link is almost 1/2"" long. The chain also has the original large lobster clasp. The medallion is 2 3/4"" long with the bail and is 2 1/4"" wide. The necklace is not dated and to the best of my knowledge, I believe they stopped dating pieces in 1979. Based on the design of this piece, it was obviously made in the early 1980s. Both the chain and the medallion are in pristine condition and the necklace appears to have never been worn. There are no imperfections of loss of gold and the Hematite and crystals do not have and scratches, chips or cracks. The only wear that I can detect on this piece is very minimal. On the back of the medallion, on just the bottom edges around the rim, there is some very light gold wear from handling or resting on the bottom edges, but not really noticeable to the naked eye. "
